Course Description
This is an introductory drawing experience stressing graphic representation of objects through a variety of media and techniques. The fundamentals of pictorial composition, including principles, elements, and practices of drawing, are particularly emphasized in the exploration of a wide range of subject matter. Perceptually based drawing, observational skills, technical abilities, and creative responses to material and subject matter will also be developed. Field trips may be required. Course Description
This course is a survey of the history of western art from the Renaissance to the Contemporary period. The course includes discussions of the development of styles, techniques of producing art, major figures in art history, and the relationship of art and society, with a particular emphasis on the art object as a form of cultural and social expression.
