UPDATE 1/23/25 5:45 pm:

In light of improvements to local air quality, Oxnard College will shift course and resume normal operations tomorrow, Friday, January 24. Face-to-face classes and services will be in-person. 

Both Ventura College and Ventura College East Campus will be open, Friday, January 24, 2025.

The Moorpark College campus remains closed due to the SCE Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS).  Winds have died down and there are no air quality concerns. Pending restoration of power, the campus will reopen for normal operations for Friday (1/24). 

 

UPDATE 1/23/25 1:45 pm:

A widespread power outage at Moorpark College from Southern California Edison’s Public Safety Power Shutoff has begun. 

While we have limited individuals on campus, we are now closing all buildings without generator power for Thursday, January 23. 

An update will be provided by 5PM, Thursday, January 23 regarding campus operations for Friday, January 24. 

 

UPDATE 1/23/25 6:30am—All three colleges will transition to online instruction for the remainder of this week (Thursday 01/23/25 & Friday 01/24/25)

  • Online and hybrid classes will continue as scheduled in the online environment 
  • When feasible, face-to-face classes will transition to online synchronous or asynchronous formats 

    Please check Canvas and your emails for updates from your instructor. 

 

1/22/25 2:30pm—Ventura College and East Campus are closed for the remainder of the day. 

An update regarding campus resuming operations will be provided by 6:30 AM on Thursday, January 23.

 

 

Wednesday January 22, 1:30pm–Moorpark College & Oxnard College campuses are closed immediately. 

Due to deteriorating air quality and forecast for more smoke impacts to campus, Moorpark College and Oxnard College are closing immediately.  According to all available information from local authorities. There is no fire danger to campuses. This closure is based on health recommendations for air quality.
