Course Description
This laboratory course provides experiences in applying the principles and techniques of biological anthropology. Topics will include: the Scientific Method, Mendelian and molecular genetics, population genetics, variation in contemporary human populations, forensics, comparative vertebrate anatomy, human osteology, primatology, and comparative human fossil morphology. Field trips may be required. Prerequisites: ANTH V01 or concurrent enrollment. Transfer credit: CSU; UC.

Course Description
This course focuses on the major forms and causes of behavior defined as deviant or abnormal. Diagnostic and therapeutic treatment strategies are examined, as well as the various theories currently used to explain abnormal behavior and mental illness. Field trips may be required.
