Course Description
This course directs students in the exploration of veterinary medicine as a career choice, including education, job tasks, and employment options. This course will cover the development and facilitation of client care, client relations, filing of governmental reports, and legal responsibilities of registered veterinary technicians. Topics will include: client and staff communication, veterinary medical ethics, veterinary logs, and legalities. Resume writing and job interviewing skills will also be covered. Other key topics include an orientation to college veterinary science programs and degree/certification requirements. Field trips may be required. Transfer credit: CSU.

Course Description
Emphasizes expository writing and research, demonstrating principles of thesis and support, rhetorical organization, control of diction, clear sentence and paragraph construction, and command of the conventions of English usage. Develops analytical and interpretive reading skills. Course Credit Limitations: Credit will not be awarded for both the honors and regular versions of a course. Credit will be awarded only for the first course completed with a grade of “C” or better or "P". Moorpark College Honors Program requires a letter grade. Field trips may be required. Prerequisites: College Writing or Eligibility for ENGL M01A as determined by the college's multiple measures assessment process. Transfer credit: CSU; UC.
