Katherine Dewet
My guiding philosophy for teaching comes from a diverse background that began in 1980 when I started coaching youth equestrian competitors to help pay for my college education. I have been involved with varied forms of movement education ever since. Moving with awareness as we go through each day can benefit nearly everyone. Whether one enjoys a walk on the beach, dancing, yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, or Cross Fitness, the body and mind will thrive when nurtured with optimal levels of movement, rest, nutrition, and intellectual stimulation.
In addition to teaching, I am active in the Ventura County community contributing to the volunteer workforce of the Channel Islands National Park and Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary for over 24 years, primarily guiding hikes on the 5 islands in the park, as well as taking photos and videos for special projects.
