The California Apprenticeship Initiative (CAI) grant funding model is dedicated to the creation of apprenticeship opportunities in priority and emerging industry sectors where apprenticeship training does not currently exist. These “New and Innovative” programs expand non-traditional apprenticeships, creating a new vocational pipeline of highly-skilled workers.
The California Apprenticeship Initiative is a program administered by the California Community College Chancellor’s Office in close partnership with the Division of Apprenticeship Standards and is supported by the California Labor Agency and the Workforce Development Board.
VCCCD has been awarded CAI funding in the following areas:
