Writing topics include paraphrasing and summarizing, paragraph organization and support, thesis statements, and introductory and conclusion paragraphs. Reading skills include reading charts, graphs, and visual data, identifying main ideas in multi-paragraph passages, vocabulary development, use of context, literal and inferential comprehension, and recognizing basic patterns of organization.
