About
Heather Ferris has over 25 years of teaching experience. She holds secondary credentials in Social Science and Health Science. Heather is currently a full time high school teacher, AVID Coordinator, and an adjunct faculty member with Oxnard College. Heather has a passion for supporting first generation students and students opting for online learning opportunities.
Heather grew up in Ventura County and attended public schools in Ventura before moving to San Diego for college. After returning to the area in the early 2000s, Heather has worked with local high school students as a classroom teacher and supporter of AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) programs. In her free time, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, kayaking in the Ventura Harbor, and hiking on occasional trips to Mammoth. On weekends, she loves to bake goodies, and do crossword puzzles.

Lisa Sandoval

Dr. Lisa Sandoval first entered the field of Education as a high school Spanish teacher in the Bay Area and stayed in the high school classroom for about six years. She eventually transitioned to the college classroom where she discovered her passion for supporting college students in pursuing their personal passions and academic pursuits.
Dr. Lisa Sandoval is a first-generation high school and college graduate. She is an English-language learner who grew up speaking Armenian and later learned to speak both English and Spanish. She loves writing poetry, eating cheese, traveling, reading a good book, eating more cheese, and most of all, cheering on her English football club, Arsenal.
