After an internal/external search with a campus hiring committee of three faculty, four administrators (one from Oxnard College), and two classified professionals, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Jennifer Kalfsbeek-Goetz was selected and has accepted the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) position at Ventura College. As you know, she has served as the interim Vice President at Ventura College since July and has led the academic affairs areas with integrity, innovation, and excellence.
Dr. Kalfsbeek-Goetz earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Master’s Degree in Sociology, and Doctorate of Philosophy in Education Leadership. She has taught in college classrooms since 1996, including 5-years as a tenured faculty member at a community college in MN. As a college leader, she has served as a department chair for 2 years, a senior program director for 6 years, an assistant dean for 2 years, and a Dean at Moorpark College for 4 years prior to working at Ventura College. As a first-generation college graduate who attended college thanks to access to financial aid, Jennifer completed her education through her own resilience and desire to persist to complete her education. As a result, she can relate to the many challenges our college students face today. I am thrilled that Jennifer will continue to serve Ventura College as our permanent VPAA.
Best regards,
