The Board of Trustees granted tenure to 25 faculty members across the three community college campuses - Moorpark, Oxnard, and Ventura Colleges during the February 20, 2018 Board of Trustees Meeting. Faculty members receiving tenure represented various academic disciplines including Automotive Technology, Earth Science, Music, Anthropology and Fire Technology. By receiving tenure the faculty are now permanent employees.
The Board of Trustees congratulated the following faculty:
Moorpark College: Josepha Baca, Business; Doreen Butler, Mathematics; Jodi Dickey, Counseling; Brandon Elliott, Music; Vahe Khachadoorian, Mathematics; Marnie Melendez, Counseling; Beth Miller, Biological Sciences; Farisa Morales, Physics/Astronomy; Matthew Morgan, Philosophy; Tiffany Pawluk, Chemistry; Haleh Risdana, Drama/Theatre Arts; Trulie Thompson, Counseling; Katrina Topolinski, Mathematics; and Ashley Vaughan, Anthropology.
Oxnard College: Michael Ketaily, Fire Technology; Joshua Lieser, History; Charles Ramirez, Counseling; Kari Tudman, Reading; and Emily Zwaal, Sign Language, American.
Ventura College: Chloe Branciforte, Earth Science; Jennifer Garner, Biological Sciences; John Guelcher, English; Eric Irwin, Automotive Technology; Maria L. Reyes-Sanchez, Counseling; and Lauren Wintermeyer, Counseling.

Prior to being granted tenure, College Tenure Review Committees and college presidents agree to all of the tenure recommendations. During the fourth fall semester of employment as a full-time faculty member, the Tenure Review Committee evaluates each faculty member's performance in their primary assignment, as well as work in the college and local communities. This evaluation includes tracking progress on the improvement plan developed in the prior fall semester as well as observation and evaluation of the faculty member in a range of activities/products, such as a review of documents, self-appraisal including professional development, observations of work with students, and student evaluations.
The Ventura County Community College District is a member of the 114-campus California Community College system, and serves more than 32,000 students annually. The District’s three colleges- Moorpark, Oxnard, and Ventura- offer programs in general education for degrees and certificates, transfer to four-year colleges and universities, career technical education, and provide opportunities to engage in co-curricular campus activities.
