How long have you worked for the District?
I started at Moorpark College on September 21, 2020; my experience includes 15-plus years at four other higher ed institutions. My very first position in education was as a 20-year-old Welcome Center student worker, and I aspired to one day become a Dean of Student Services.

I am not a VCCCD alum, but I am proud to say that I did attend a California community college, and I am transfer student.
When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
My favorite pastime is spending time with my 17-year-old son at sporting events. We both enjoy Dodgers and Lakers games but lean more toward baseball than basketball.
What do you find rewarding about your job or career?
I understand that it is important for students in K-12 to be introduced to college courses before graduating high school. When they pass their first college course, it gives them a sense of belonging in higher education, and it empowers them to continue. I’m proud of the work I do and find it rewarding when I see the success rates at the end of every term.
Do you do any volunteer work? If so, what?
Due to the pandemic, I decided to retire from my volunteer work. I previously volunteered as a Little League Baseball coach for over 10 years and was part of the board of directors for the league. I am undecided if I will be returning in the future.
