VCCCD would like you to get to know the staff and faculty who contribute their time, talent & education to the success of our students. We will regularly highlight employees across all four campuses, sharing their professional expertise, their educational path, and a few fun facts about them.
Describe your position:
I partner with District staff at all levels and in all departments to support the pre-employment processes for the District’s classified workforce. This includes creating new classifications, conducting compensation studies, and developing and administering selection and recruitment processes and materials.
How long have you worked for the District?
Almost four years – I started as a provisional HR Analyst in May 2018 and became a classified employee a few months later.
Are you a VCCCD alum? If yes, which college?
I am not an alum of VCCCD. However, I am a lifelong student and have been taking online classes from all three colleges since I started working with the District.
When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
I am an avid reader, and I subscribe to four different monthly book clubs. If I’m not working in the yard, cooking with my husband, or driving my kids to an event, I am nose-deep in a book.
What do you find rewarding about your job or career?
I really love seeing people who have been hired with the District move up and into different positions.
Do you do any volunteer work? If so, what?
I am the treasurer for my local chapter of the United States Pony Club, which is a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for equine education for horse enthusiasts all over the world. I don’t ride horses, my youngest daughter does. I’m actually afraid of them!
Two words to describe yourself:
Curious and sarcastic
Bonus Question: What’s the best snack food of all time?
I love all candy equally – sour, chewy, chocolate, crispy, fruity, crunchy, nutty…I love all of it.
