SONIC SERIES by MC Music Dept presents an Introduction to VOYAGER and its Extended Vocal Techniques.
"An introduction to, background of, and description of the compositional methods and extended vocal techniques in Matthew Brown’s 2023 VOYAGER for choir and electronics. VOYAGER was commissioned and premiered by the Los Angeles Master Chorale at Walt Disney Concert Hall. The work was inspired by the forty-fifth anniversary of the Voyager spacecraft, launched in 1977 by the United States. Examples from the piece and its accompanying video will be played to illustrate its construction, techniques, and textures. The composer will work with the choir to teach them the extended and experimental vocal techniques in the largely wordless tone poem that describes the journey and discoveries of the twin Voyager missions."
