Ventura County Community College District is pleased to announce the appointment of Rojelio (Roy) Vasquez as Vice President of Academic Affairs at Oxnard College, effective February 1, 2018.
Mr. Vasquez will oversee enrollment management as Oxnard College embarks on an important phase of institutional strategic planning. President Cynthia E. Azari says, "We are very excited to have Roy as part of our executive team. He has worked in a variety of administrative roles in higher education, as well as in industry, and is well-versed in aligning business priorities with operational strategies, plans and services, as well as developing strategic partnerships."
Mr. Vasquez brings more than 25 years of leadership experience to his new position, most recently as Dean of Instruction for the Business Division and as Interim Vice President for Student Services at Fresno City College. Mr. Vasquez has also held positions as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Business Programs at the School of Business, and as Assistant Professor of Marketing and Strategy, both at Fresno Pacific University. For nearly 20 years, as a faculty member in business, he taught undergraduate and graduate students at State Center Community College District, Pepperdine University, Fresno State University, UC Merced, and Columbia College-Lemoore Campus.
Mr. Vasquez is also involved in business consulting, specializing in strategy, operations, marketing, and management. For more than two decades, he has consulted locally, statewide, nationally, and internationally across industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, retail, agriculture, and education. He has also served on the City of Fresno’s Planning Commission for the past 15 years, holding the roles of Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
Mr. Vasquez received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Fresno Pacific University, a Masters of Business Administration-Management from California State University, Fresno, and he is working on a Doctorate in Management from the University of Maryland.
