This course provides the basic principles of nutrition and its relationship to oral health and well-being. Students perform dietary surveys and educate patients on how nutrition impacts their oral and systemic health. Field trips may be required. This course teaches alternative management techniques and skills required to provide comprehensive and compassionate dental care to geriatric patients and patients with special needs.
